Healthy and Safety Update

Friday, 13th March 2020

In light of the recent outbreak of Coronavirus COVID-19, we are implementing new processes and procedures to help stop the spread and risk of infection. This policy is being put in place for the protection of our guests, staff, crew and suppliers.

Vagabond Cruises will continue to operate our weekly ticketed events as well as private charters. Based on the most recent guidelines provided by the World Health Organisation (WHO), we are committed to minimising the risk of infection and are taking the following precautionary measures in the interests of your health and safety:

  • Increased frequency of cleaning and sanitising of high-use surfaces aboard all vessels, including bars, hand railings, reception, food prep surfaces etc.
  • Toilets are cleaned and sanitised before, after and during cruises at 30 minute intervals – if needed, toilets will be closed for 3-4 minutes at a time. We appreciate your patience while our crew clean and sanitise for your safety
  • Food and beverage service staff wear protective rubber gloves during service and whilst clearing tables

In addition to the above processes, we remind you to please practice good personal hygiene and healthy lifestyle habits. The World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends the following hygiene and other measures to reduce the general risk of infections:

  • Frequently and thoroughly wash hands with soap for 20 seconds or use hand sanitiser
  • Cough or sneeze into a flexed elbow or tissue - throw tissue away immediately and wash or sanitise hands
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  • Avoid close contact with anyone who has cold and flu-like symptoms
  • Keep a recommended distance of 1 meter from others during social interactions
  • If you display any cold and flu-like symptoms, please stay home.

If you have been overseas within the last 14 days or in close contact with any confirmed COVID-19 cases, you should be self-isolating and seeking medical assessment. This is a directive from the Australian Government.
